Bond With Your Teen
Local spots to take your teen for some fun
It’s almost back to school time, which means its time to soak up the sun’s last rays and enjoy your teen’s company before they’re “too cool” to hang out with Mom or Dad. Spending quality time with your teen doesn’t have to be at a sold out Justin Beiber concert. In fact, your great time could be around the corner. We have the top three places to take your teen in Stamford this summer — and don’t worry, they don’t involve thousands of screaming tweens.
Channel your inner child at the Adventure Center at Stamford’s Chelsea Piers. Bounce around and have some laughs on the facility’s 26 interconnected trampolines or challenge your teen to an old-school dodge ball game with a new school twist.
Dodge ball not your best sport? Try your luck at the batting cages or climb to new heights at the facilities brand new 22’ climbing wall, complete with 10 challenging routes featuring a rare overhang area. First time climbing? Don’t worry; the Climb Zone has everything for beginners to more experienced climbers.

Cool off in the Long Island Sound and try something new at the Young Mariners Foundation. Rent a single or double kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Individual guided tours or group tours of five or less are available.
Not only will you get some great exercise and quality time with your teen, but also the majority of the proceeds go to the Young Mariners Foundation programs, which benefit underserved students in the Stamford area.

This summer marks the 10th anniversary of Curtain Call’s Shakespeare on the Green. Enjoy a night out with your teen with 2013’s lineup, featuring all-time favorites like Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Wizard of Oz and more.
Before you know it, your teen will be off to college, so enjoy the dog days of summer at one of these three great places!
