Are you sick of the same boring gym workout? Get out of your exercise slump and shake up your routine this spring and summer. Stamford is full of adult sport leagues where you can get active, meet new people, and have some fun (and a few celebratory beers). Whether you were a college athlete or you just want to learn a new game, there are leagues for every skill level. So lace up those Nike’s and gather your friends because it’s game time.

Chelsea Piers

Ditch your gym membership and try something new this spring. Chelsea Piers offers the most extensive selection of adult sports leagues from basketball to ice hockey to lacrosse to soccer and more. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or newbie, Chelsea Piers has leagues that cater to everyone. Beside its brand new state-of-the-art facility, Chelsea Piers provides professional referees, attentive management, and flexible scheduling. Channel your inner Pele on the facility’s 100-yard air-conditioned turf field or your inner Wayne Gretzky on the ice.

Stamford Recreation

Stamford Recreation lives up to its motto “We work so you can play!” From volleyball to soccer to softball, Stamford Recreation has something for everyone. Want something more social? Then try your hand at beach volleyball held just five minutes from downtown at Cummings Beach. If you’re on the more competitive side, join the softball league, which holds several tournaments throughout the spring and summer. Whatever sport you choose, Stamford Recreation has knowledge league organizers at every game.

ZogSports

ZogSports isn’t your typical sports league. It’s a co-ed social sports league for young professionals. ZogSports makes it easy for people to get together, play, and have fun on and off the field. From the court to happy hour, ZogSports organizes after-game happy hours where you and your teammates can share a pitcher of beer over a hard-fought win. The best part is the organization donates 10 percent of all profits and 100 percent of happy hour bar contributions to charities that you pick.
