Wearable Art
By using translucent papers—silk paper, wrapping paper, and cardboard—Minh-thu Leroy, a Stamford-based jewelry designer, createsplayful pieces that are equally alive and delicate. To achieve this effect in her collection of necklaces, earrings and bracelets, she manipulates the paper—already treated with laminate to ensure durability—into jewels, discs and other forms that highlight the texture in the papers and vibrancy of its colors. The end result is a little piece of wearable art that makes a big statement.

Designing Duo
Irwin Feld Design and Mid Century Antiques are creating a sleek and seamless look with the launch of the CF Modern collection, a collaboration between designers Irwin Feld and Steve Cassler. CF Modern’s custom designs will be housed in a lofty gallery in Stamford’s arts and antiques district in the South End. Feld and Cassler, principal of Mid Century Antiques, partnered to create this crave-worthy collection to meet popular demand. While their vintage frames had been seen on walls of leading retailers like J. Crew and Barney’s, the demand for multiples prompted the designers to expand. Ideally suited for hotel and retail venues, the collection will debut with informal seating featuring beautifully designed benches and ottomans. Paying homage to the design duo’s mid-century roots, the collection features daring sculpted lines and slick metal accents.
