More than 400 Liza Minnelli fans came out to see the legend take the stage during the Stamford Center of the Arts’ third annual Palace Gala, where she performed classics and hits in a sold-out concert at the Palace Theatre. Before the concert, Minelli was awarded the SCA Arts Legacy Award, while Michael L. Widland and Moira K. Lyons were awarded the Arts Ovations Awards. Emmanuel “EJ” Couloucoundis was presented with the 2012 SCA Emerging Young Artist Scholarship Award. Funds raised will support the SCA’s arts education programs, including Summer Jazz Stamford, the Lumina String Quartet’s Chamber Music Institute, the Triple Threat Performer Intensive and the July performance of A Glow-in-the-Dark Dinosaur Adventure.
