More than $100,000 was raised at the Stamford Family YMCA’s Fine Food for a Cause event, which included special honors for restaurateur Joe Bastianich and 2011 Miss America Teresa Scanlan. The evening was emceed by Scott Wapner of CNBC’s Fast Money Halftime Report.
The 250 food lovers in attendance were treated to a feast of signature small plates from more than a dozen homegrown chefs, including those from Barcelona Restaurant & Wine Bar, Columbus Park Trattoria, Da Pietro’s, David’s Soundview Catering, Forte Gelato, Match, Morton’s the Steakhouse, Napa & Co., Tappo, Tarry Lodge, Taste by Karla Sorrentino, Strada 18, Sushi Village, and Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes.
Proceeds help fund a multipurpose teaching kitchen that will be used to deliver cooking skills and nutritional education to underserved local kids and families
