More than 150 patrons came together for First County Bank Foundation’s Celebration of Mutual Partnerships at UConn Stamford to honor the nonprofit’s 2011 grant recipients, and commemorate the foundation’s tenth anniversary and 160 years since the bank’s founding. Georgetown University Professor William D. Novelli, who heads the school’s Global Social Enterprise Initiative, was the keynote speaker.

In 2011 the foundation awarded 108 grants totaling more than $591,000, surpassing the previous year’s record of $570,000. Since 2001 the foundation has awarded a total of 544 individual grants, together worth about $4.6 million. Grant applications for 2012 are currently available; the deadline is March 31.
