Tackling Needs

Members of the NFL Alumni Connecticut Chapter and the Umbrella Club visited Stamford Hospital to deliver Pillow Pets, stuffed animals, autographed player cards and children’s books from Wheelbooks to children in the pediatric unit. Visitors included Steve Thurlow, NFL Alumni chapter president; Frank Gifford, Hall of Famer and former player for the New York Giants; and Bill Cooke, former player for the Packers, Lions, 49ers and Seahawks.

Members of the NFL Alumni Connecticut Chapter have been visiting hospitals in Connecticut and Westchester County since the organization’s inception in 2006. These visits help to advance the organization’s year-round mission of Caring for Kids, and enhance the lives of young people, offering role models for today’s youth.

The Umbrella Club supports community families and children in need. Its president Bruce Moore, and members Scott Kelly and Robert Giangoia, were on hand to help deliver the gifts.
