Sweet Inspiration

Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling & Education

Debbie Dietz showcases her award-winning Safari Gingerbread House.

The Gingerbread Houses and Cocktails for a Cause drew 180 men and women to the Country Club of Darien for an evening of creative fun; this crafty crew took gingerbread slabs and transformed them into classic cottages, elaborate castles and even a lofty lighthouse.

The fourth annual event raised nearly $12,000 for the Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education, which provides free counseling, advocacy and education to men, women and children livings in eight towns throughout lower Fairfield County, including Stamford.

Sponsors for the event included Stamford magazine and Moffly Media, Amity Wine & Spirit, Co., Juliska and Chunky Pam’s of Darien, which provided a mouth-watering selection of candy for decorating the houses.
