About 200 supporters gathered for the Stamford Wine Opener at the Sheraton, where local shops, restaurants and wine vendors offered light bites and fine wines from around the world, including A&S Fine Foods, Angela Mia, Bar Q, Bartaco, Butterfield8, Kona Grill, DiMare Pastry Shop, Fairway Market, Finalmente Trattoria, SBC Restaurant & Brewery, Tiernan’s Bar & Grill and Rowayton Seafood. The inaugural event also featured an auction and live music, as well as an exclusive VIP Reception during which a three-course meal with wine pairings was served by Morton’s The Steakhouse. Sponsors included First Niagara Bank Foundation, Stamford Hospital, American Airlines, Moffly Media and Glenville Wine & Spirits.
