In Case You Missed It: Alive@Five July 17

Barenaked Ladies

This week at Columbus Park was a band worthy of the #TBT hashtag. The Barenaked Ladies lit up the center of Stamford with new music as well and some of our favorites from the 90’s!

Best Onstage Moment: For all you Sesame Street fans out there, you’d be happy to know The Count stopped by the Bud Light stage. With a few jokes up his sleeve, he kept the audience laughing: “Why did the number nine go missing? Because seven eight nine!”

Best Dressed: Best dressed goes to Amber P. of Milford, sporting great retro sunglasses and a beautiful maxi skirt. Fabulous!

Song That Got Everyone Signing: The Barenaked Ladies are working on a new album, “Grinning Streak,” now available on iTunes. The album features “Gonna Walk,” a song about the power of love and how far a man would go for the love of that special someone. With a little coaxing, the audience joined in singing their heartfelt lyrics. Check out the audio track:

Biggest Smiles: Lynette, Leah and Lisa were “hanging loose” at Alive @ Five this week. And who can blame them with the energetic atmosphere, giveaways and dancing?

Best Comment: “Being outside in this perfect weather is great for some fun with friends,” said Whitney of Stratford. It’s obvious this group knows how to have a good time!

If you weren’t in town this week, you still have time to get down to the center of Stamford every Thursday for great giveaways, music, and an all-around good time with your friends and family! The party starts at 5 p.m.
