The Mayapple Center for the Arts and Humanities opened with an elegant gala on Saturday, June 21st to launch its summer programs for adults in the arts and humanities. Guests meandered through candlelit rose gardens and curated art while listening to performances by acclaimed electric violinist Mary Rowell, concert pianist Diane Huling, and vocalists Skip Potter and Arthur Zorn. President Michelle B. Slater shared her vision to create a small sanctuary to promote the arts and humanities for small groups of adults in her opening remarks. Guests included local professors, artists, writers, and patrons of the arts.
