The Hard Hat Tour: Chelsea Piers
Construction of Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford is well underway, with progress in the pools, fields, gymnastics area, squash courts and ice rink already discernible during an early fall tour. The Chelsea Piers folks assure us everything is right on schedule for that much-anticipated June opening.
So keep an eye out for upcoming announcements, which will include travel league tryouts, sport clinic schedules, summer camp enrollment and more.
In the meantime, if you’re already thinking about day care for next summer, Mollie Marcoux, executive director for Chelsea Piers Connecticut, says enrollment may begin in December, and in January families may begin touring the on-site, six-room Early Childhood Education Center. With programs modeled after the ones in New York, the center will serve children up to five years old on full-time, part-time and after-camp schedules.
“Our own kids have all gone through our center, so it’s been great to keep these two businesses next to each other,” says Marcoux. “The kids are getting a great day care and preschool, but they also get to take gymnastics and swimming lessons as part of their curriculum.”
